چکیده

Results of examinations of the prenatal dynamic of development of skeletal musculature of chicken have been presented in this paper. Eggs of two types of chicken hybrids were incubated – broiler (Ross 308) and layer (Hy-Line Brown). Samples were taken in determined intervals. For the analyses of samples, light and scanning electron microscopy were used. Morphological characteristics of skeletal musculature (muscle of hind extremity – m. biceps femoris and chest muscle – m. pectoralis profundus) were observed: diameter of muscle cells, morphological characteristics of nucleus and cytoplasm of skeletal muscle cells and forming of bundles of muscle cells. It was established that the diameter of muscle cells was greater in layer chicken and that differences in development of nucleus and cytoplasm between these two chicken hybrids exist. These results are explained with prolonged proliferation of myoblasts and delayed differentiation of muscle cells in broiler chickens, which leads to greater development of skeletal musculature of broilers in the postnatal period. The results of this experiment present a basis for further investigations of dynamics of embryonal development of skeletal musculature of chicken, the defining of characteristics of embryonal development of different types of chicken hybrids, as well as the establishment of influence of embryonal characteristics of organism on the postnatal muscle development of an individual.

Effect of chronic hypoxia during the early stage of incubation on prenatal and postnatal parameters related to ascites syndrome in broiler chickens

To investigate the influence of hypoxia during the early stage of incubation on embryonic developmentand hatching events, and consequently on incidence of ascites in broiler chickens, one thousand fertile eggswere incubated in two commercial incubators. Half the eggs were incubated in a low altitude incubator untilhatched. The second half were incubated in a high altitude incubator until day 10...

Ursolic Acid Improve Skeletal Muscle Hypertrophy by Increasing of PAX7, Myod and Myogenin Expression and Satellite Cells Proliferation in Native Broiler Chickens

Ursolic acid (UA) is known as a naturally occurring triterpene pentacyclic compound in some medicinal herbs including savory that affects the skeletal muscle. In the current study, the effect of UA was evaluated on C2C12 cells and satellite cells (SCs) isolated from native broiler chicks. First in the in vitro experiment, the C2C12 cell line obtained from the Stem Cell Technology Research Cente...

Effects of prenatal hypoxia on pulmonary vascular reactivity in chickens prone to pulmonary hypertension.

Among chickens, meat-producing broiler strains are highly prone to develop severe pulmonary hypertension (PH) that is accompanied by endothelial dysfunction in the conduit extrapulmonary arteries. We hypothesized that exposure to chronic prenatal mild hypoxia would accelerate PH and endothelial dysfunction in smaller intrapulmonary arteries from broiler chickens. Fertilized broiler and layer (W...

Triennial Growth Symposium--A role for vitamin D in skeletal muscle development and growth.

Although well known for its role in bone development and mineral homeostasis, there is emerging evidence that vitamin D is capable of functioning as a regulator of skeletal muscle development and hypertrophic growth. This review will focus on the relatively limited body of evidence regarding the impact of vitamin D on prenatal development and postnatal growth of skeletal muscle in meat animal s...

Endogenous and environmental factors interactions that contribute to the development of ascites in broiler chickens: a review

The increasing susceptibility of broiler chickens to ascites syndrome has coincided with a continuing genetic and nutritional improvement in their feed efficiency and growth rate. Ascites is multifactorial and interactions between environmental and endogenous factors play a particularly important role. The selection of fast growing broilers for high feed efficiency, which is characterized by hy...
